  • New students enrolling for Fall 2025 must choose their Academic Advising & Course Registration session. Learn more about advising.

    • For transfers these sessions will take place throughout May, June, and July.
    • For first year students these sessions will take place in July.

  • First-year students at Cal State Channel Islands participate in our Learning Communities (LC) program involving General Education and/or academic program requirement classes in both Fall and Spring semesters.

For incoming students who were not able to indicate their Learning Community preferences in the Joining the Pod survey by June 16th, you may be placed into a Learning Community prior to your Academic Advising & Course Registration session.  All Learning Community classes meet major and/or graduation requirements with the added benefit of a peer mentor to connect you with campus resources and support your first-year success!

For questions regarding Learning Communities, contact learningcommunities@csuci.edu.
