Registration for MathMINDS for Spring 2024 is now open! 

Math MINDS is a unique, semester-long opportunity for students enrolled in first-year math. This program is designed to help students develop quantitative reasoning skills and mindsets through interactive workshops, tutoring, and peer collaboration. Students completing all required program elements will receive a $350 scholarship award. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:

  • Attend a total of four workshops (1.5 hours a week in weeks 4-7 of the semester; total time 6 hours)
  • Complete six asynchronous learning components by mid-semester (total time 2 - 2.5 hours)
  • Meet with an LRC tutor four times over the semester; two sessions by Week 6 and two more sessions by Week 12 (minimum of 30 minutes each time; total time of 2 hours)
  • Participate in three MasterMINDS Team Check-in Meetings between mid-semester and end of semester (total time 3-4 hours)

The Writing and Multiliteracy Center's mission is to support all members of the CI community with their writing at any stage of the composing process. The WMC also provides feedback on student slideshow presentations, oral presentations, research posters, or short videos. Students can make appointments, drop in, or set up online consultations.

Biology Department tutoring is offered in Aliso Hall 2nd floor lobby area. Our departmental peer tutoring services are free, in person, and on a walk-in, drop-in basis. Biology Department Tutoring runs through the last week of regular instruction.

Computer Science/Information Technology Program Tutors

Sierra Hall 1119

The lab in Sierra 1119 hosts several machines identical to those within the instructional spaces. Each tutoring machine is equipped with Windows, Mac and Linux. Students are also encouraged to bring their own machines.
